Movie 4 of the fiftyfiftyme challenge - The Amateurs
Jeff Bridges seems like he can do no wrong. This move was great and had a fantastic supporting cast. There’s a great moment where Bridges talkes about Tryers and Doers. How his whole life he’s been trying to get something done and not just doing it. How this is his first time that he’s going to do something.
Overall there are a lot of great scenes in this movie I wasn’t expecting from it. Also how can you go wrong with a comedy about some people from a small town deciding to make a Porno?

Books 3 & 4 of the fiftyfiftyme Challenge: Uncanny X-Force Apocalypse Solution and Deathlok Nation
Holy crap where has this book been my entire life?! Also if we’re going to have 300 different Deadpool titles why is Remender not writing one of them? After the way he’s used in this book, I would read the hell out of that. He manages to make Deadpool the joke that he is AND a real person at the same time.
Also thank you to my Parents and @WonderAli for getting these for me as Christmas Presents!

Book 2 fiftyfiftyme Challenge - Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn
Some would be surprised to know that I have not read this before. I’ve looked through it at a friends house once, but haven’t had the chance to read it till now. I’m a big fan of Hal Jordan and this book does a great job showing reasons why he’s a great character. I especially loved that they did a good job of showing how the Guardians started to kind of fear Jordan early on.

Movie 3 of the fiftyfiftyme challenge - Louis C.K. Hilarious

I decided to attach a clip. It’s my favorite part and I’ve noticed that I’m starting to feel the same way about certain technologies. When I got my first cell phone it wasn’t a big deal, but now that I have a superphone I feel like I’m sort of Wizard.

Book 1 of the fiftyfifty me Challenge: Green River Killer A True Detective Story
I snagged this during when Dark Horse sent out a 50% off coupon for their Digital App. I liked the story for the fact that it didn’t make anything glamorous. Sometimes when you read something like this you think “I can see where they may have changed this or that to make the story more appealing.” I didn’t get that feeling in Green River Killer. In fact the writer said the only things he really changed were names of some people or combined them because they wanted to either be left out or he didn’t want to confuse you with too many side characters. Overall if you like real life crime, give it a read. I think even without the coupon it’s like 9.99, which isn’t too shabby.

Movie 2 on the fiftyfiftyme Challenge: Wet Hot American Summer
I’m still on the fence on whether I liked this movie or not. Some scenes were great, others were random and seemed to be there to fill time. One thing I can say I liked about it: Christopher Meloni. He steals every scene he’s in and the fact that I can only describe his character as a crazed sexual deviant is hysterical to me. Because we’re talking about Stabler from Law and Order SVU.

I just saw that Angela is doing the 50/50 Challenge. When I saw one recommendation was a graphic novel I decided to jump onboard. I mean really 50 Prose Novels? We all know I wouldn’t make it!
That being said the first movie that I have for the year is the same as Angela’s - Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. I enjoyed the first one and I loved this one even more. Moriarty is one of the best villains and they got a great actor to play him.

FailTube (Not Really, Movie Industry Fail)

ballsmoke:

Is YouTube the biggest failure in media delivery history?

How many people use YouTube daily? It’s on iPhones, iPads, Androids, Xboxs, PS3s, Rokus, and whatever the hell else.

Why have they never made a major push for a rental service for movies like Xbox has with the Zune Marketplace or even iTunes? The YouTube app for 360 is better looking the then the damn website.

Everyone knows and uses YouTube. Why not rent movies from YouTube?

They do Rent movies! It’s in Beta and US ONLY. http://www.youtube.com/t/youtube_rentals

Sadly I don’t see a huge adoption rate by the industry for it. The reason being is that they downright hate Youtube and the way it currently operates. If Youtube prescreened all of it’s content before it as uploaded I bet all of the different Movie Studios would be on board. There has been way too many DCMA Take Down notices gone bad and lawsuits that haven’t gone in their favor to run to them with open arms.
