Q:Hey man, about the whole spoiler thing, I occasionally post images on Time Travel from new comics I get but typically just single panels and nothing that ever spoils the story for anyone else. I've never once had anyone complain but hopefully I'm not one of the assholes you were talking about because if someone told me I was spoiling a book for them I'd definitely try to be a bit more mindful in the future.
Anyways, if there ever is a problem with images on Time Travel, just let me know.
I can’t think of a time that Time Travel has posted anything that set me off. I genuinely feel that you and pigtailsandcombatboots do a fantastic job with Time Travel. It’s one of my favorite Comic Blogs on Tumblr along with Zatanna, Dc Women Kicking Ass, Pink of the Ink, and Comics Cavern. And if someone posts a page or panel once in a while that’s not spoilerish, I get over it.
The people that are really upsetting me are the ones that posted roughly the last 4 pages of Shadowland. Which came through the Tumblr account I use for The Couch. It seems to be more and more common that people are approaching outright piracy by scanning a majority of a books and posting it to Tumblr. Of course it also had to be a book I mail ordered and don’t receive for another month. A book I was very excited to read.
What sparked me to actually post my rant was a certain X-Men related spoiler. Which did meet my one week rule. I don’t read X-Men, but I thought it was very uncool how it was posted and handled by the people who did it. When a tumblr peep brought up the fact that they were upset with the spoiler (albeit with some F-Bombs and inappropriate behavior) they mentioned unfollowing said person. That Blog turned it back on them and said something to the tune that Unfollowing is an empty threat and unfollowing us in the long run only hurts you. They also added more spoilers in their response and talked about how they were doing everyone a service by saving people money in the long run.
There are ways to write a proper response and being a jerk is not one of them. Hopefully I wasn’t one when I posted my Rant or the revised one on The Couch. I like to think I wasn’t.
